Description
In October of 2025, I will embark on an extraordinary kayak expedition. I will paddle from Hoover Dam to the Mexican border, covering roughly 300 miles of the Colorado River’s rugged, untamed beauty. This journey, marked by its isolation and the challenges of the desert’s cooler yet unpredictable autumn weather, will be a true test of endurance.
I will face five major portages around Davis Dam, Parker Dam, Headgate Rock Dam, Palo Verde Diversion Dam, and Imperial Dam. These solo portages, without any external assistance, will push me to haul my kayak and gear over difficult terrain, testing my strength and determination. The desert in October can be both a blessing and a challenge, with cooler days but potentially cold nights, making it crucial to manage my time and resources wisely.
The river itself will demand attention, as shifting currents, wind, and low water levels as I approach the southern stretches present their own set of difficulties. The expedition becomes more challenging as I near the Mexican border, where the river may run shallow, forcing me to drag my kayak across exposed riverbeds.
My journey, however, is about more than just overcoming physical trials. I will partner with, and raise funds for, the National Parks Foundation, helping to preserve the very landscapes I'll traverse. The funds will go toward conserving these unique natural areas, ensuring that future generations can experience the beauty and majesty of America’s wilderness.
Throughout the expedition, I'll aim to inspire others to cherish and protect these wild places. This adventure will not only be a personal achievement I have been dreaming about for around 15 years, but a meaningful contribution to the preservation of these remarkable environments for our children and all future explorers.

National Parks Foundation Donations
I’m raising money for the National Parks Foundation to support Lake Mead, one of our nation’s most vital natural resources. As I kayak from Hoover Dam to the Mexican border, my goal is to reach and surpass $5,000 through a GoFundMe campaign. Every
dollar raised will go toward protecting the future of Lake Mead, ensuring that it remains a sustainable water source and natural habitat for generations to come. Together, we can make a difference—your support helps preserve this incredible ecosystem. Let’s keep Lake Mead thriving!
